Tibial Plateau Fractures

The Tibial Plateau is the top of the Tibia that makes up part of the knee joint.

There are two bulges at the end of the tibia called condyle. On the inside of the knee is the medial condyle and on the out side is the lateral condyle. This is where most Tibial Plateau Fractures happen.

Most tibial plateau fractures happen as a result of a fall from a height that causes the tibia to impact inside the knee. Other causes are side impacts to the knee.
