Spiral Fracture

fracture index

A spiral fracture is a fracture where a strong twisting action is placed on a bone. This twisting pressure cause the bone to break or crack.

Spiral fractures are usually caused by sudden, violent, rotating movements, such as twisting the leg during a fall. This happens often in skiing, ice skating and sports with cleats.
