The femur is the longest bone in the body, it is also the strongest. It is also know as the thigh bone. It is the bone that runs between the hip and the knee.

Fractures can happen anywhere on the bone but usually happen at the points of greatest stress. These stress points are at the joints and in the center of the bones as seen in the picture.
 

The femur is also known as the thighbone and is the main bone that runs from the knee to the hip. It is one of the body's strongest bones in the body and a lot of force is required to break it.

  • Thigh shortening
  • Unable to weight bear on hip
  • Inability to move leg
  • Inability to move hip
  • Impaired circulation to the leg
  • Impaired sensory sensation to the leg
