Rolando fracture

A Rolando Fracture is a fracture at the base of the thumb. It is similar to a Bennett fracture. The difference is that a Rolando fracture is a more serious fracture. It is what is called a comminuted fracture. A fracture in which bone is broken, splintered or crushed into a number of pieces. A fracture is considered comminuted when there are atleast 3 bone fragments.
