Bone Spur Diagnosis

Usually bone spur is diagnosed when pain along a bone or joint causes a doctor to order an X-ray. Since bone spurs are made of calcium they show up well on most X-rays. If the cause of the pain is not discovered in the initial X-ray then a CAT scan or MRI by be used to diagnose a bone spur. These latter two procedures may be used to help develop a treatment plan for more sever bone spurs especially in the spinal area.
